About Us

Growing up in the Sea to Sky corridor, founder Jesse Livingston found himself amassed by the beauty surrounding him in his own backyard. It was here that he developed his passion for carpentry and building, and thus, Livingston Carpentry was born. Obtaining his Red Seal Certificate in 2021 after working in the field for many years, Jesse has gained extensive experience in multiple facets of carpentry, such as finishing, installation, and form work. Having been a part of every step of the building process, he is committed to constant improvement as a carpenter, project manager, and business owner.

Our Vision

  • At Livingston Carpentry, we believe in building green in the form of quality for longevity. The idea behind this is to reduce landfill waste by creating timeless, hard wearing and reusable products that will last generations - not just for a small moment in time.

Why is it that we require substantially more maintenance on structures built within the last 80+ years, than we have with any other structures built before that time? What has led the average homeowner to requiring excessive maintenance and repairs for the homes they live in?

The answer to the above questions lies in the shift in priorities from high quality products and installation methods, to sticker-price reduction and speed in the modern building world. This shift has created many problems for us not only with longevity being of concern, but also with the toxic nature of many modern materials.

  • We believe in educating our clients on the benefits of quality over initial costs, as well as understanding the potential toxicity that follows cheaper products with time.

  • Using higher quality material - combined with the best industry practices - we aim to create a stronger and healthier environment for years to come. After all, less maintenance, remodeling, and rebuilding in the future equals less waste!

  • Today, there is a higher value placed on homes and the land in which they sit on, creating the likely scenario that most homes will be passed down to maintain said value. Knowing this, we want to create and provide lasting work that will reduce the landfill waste and maintenance costs that future generations will be left with.
